Trump's Family Member Seeks Professional Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
The rising star boasts impressive online audience
Kai Trump can count on multiple well-known backers as she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, owns multiple international courses and frequently matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she mentioned.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply avoid anxiety."
"He essentially suggested to play and enjoy myself," she continued.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He won't be there this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
As an amateur, Kai has competed in just three tournaments this year and maintains the 461st position in AJGA rankings.
Yet she can receive tips from golf legend, in a relationship with her mother.
"He represents the greatest golfer worldwide," Kai expressed.
"And he's a superior human being. He suggested me to go out there, enjoy myself, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, featuring world number two the champion, British golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Officials stated that involving Kai helps introduce golf to wider groups, especially with younger fans.
The young star maintains substantial online presence and recently launched a personal clothing and lifestyle brand.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
