Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield

An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, according to an official statement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.

"The plane touched down following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.

This occurrence isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet carrying a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.

Earlier this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
