Barcelona to Host First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
